Energy Access Manager

Full-time
Kuala Lumpur
RM 4,000 - RM 5,500

Role Summary

The Energy Access Manager plans, coordinates, and delivers SOLS Foundation's Energy Access programmes, primarily the Kampung Solar initiative and ATAP applications for non-domestic NGO sites. This hands-on, field-connected role manages funder relationships, hardware deployment logistics, site assessments, and community feedback so off-grid and underserved households receive reliable renewable energy.

In this role you will:

  • Own the end-to-end delivery of Kampung Solar deployments, from funder commitment tracking through to installation sign-off and community feedback.
  • Manage ATAP applications for non-domestic NGO sites, including power study coordination, TNB meter applications, and data logger procurement and testing.
  • Maintain accurate deployment trackers and update funder commitment sheets weekly.
  • Coordinate with the supply chain team on product shipment timelines and ensure hardware arrives ahead of deployment windows.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for funders such as PEGT (Petronas) and Google, preparing master proposals and communicating proactively on timelines and changes.
  • Track and manage hardware allocation across deployment batches and plan quarterly orders based on committed and projected pipelines.
  • Manage the Energy Access field team and plan field trip schedules and logistics for installation and feedback visits.
  • Compile monthly programme reports and support 6-month community impact feedback collection for funder reporting.
  • Spend time on the ground to surface field problems, identify deployment bottlenecks, and escalate them with proposed solutions.

To be shortlisted for this position, you will need to have:

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in programme management, project coordination, or field operations, preferably in renewable energy, NGO, or rural development sectors.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple active projects simultaneously with strong documentation and tracking discipline.
  • Experience managing stakeholder or funder relationships, able to communicate professionally in writing and in person.
  • Comfortable working in field conditions, including site visits, rural communities, and occasional travel.
  • Strong command of Bahasa Malaysia and English, written and spoken, able to communicate with rural community members and corporate funders alike.
  • Proficient with Google Sheets, Google Docs, and project tracking tools, able to build and maintain deployment trackers independently.

What's great about this opportunity?

  • A fair remuneration package.
  • Career progression in a fast growing impact organisation backed by Petronas.
  • Work in an agile-driven environment alongside a diverse team who will support your job growth.
  • Contribute directly to improving the lives of low-income communities, as a part of a #madetoimpact organisation.
