Join our programme team as Fundraising Executive and contribute to the core effort of providing our participants with education, training, personal development, and employment support.

Our programmes are designed specifically for the communities we serve, with their input and catered to their needs. Our current focus is the rural Orang Asli and Orang Asal communities, and urban low income youth. We also work on enabling their environment - for which we engage with training teachers, lecturers, and corporate and government employees.

The Fundraising Executive drives SOLS Foundation's fundraising efforts by executing donor acquisition and retention strategies, managing corporate and institutional relationships, and coordinating volunteer engagement activities. This role includes preparing grant proposals and award applications, managing donor communications, and supporting employee giving campaigns. The Executive tracks fundraising progress, ensures timely and accurate funder reporting, and works closely across teams to align funding with organisational priorities.

In this role you will:

Donor Acquisition & Relationship Management

  • Identify and cultivate potential donors including individuals, corporations, foundations, and government entities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective donors
  • Maintain and regularly update records of corporate prospects, donors, and CSR contacts, including communication history and engagement status
  • Ensure timely and effective communication with donors, providing programme updates and expressions of appreciation
  • Ensure donors are aware of and aligned with SOLS Foundation's programmatic goals and overarching mission

Grant Writing & Awards

  • Research, identify and submit compelling grant opportunities aligned with the organisation's mission
  • Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines and ensure timely submissions
  • Research and apply for relevant awards and recognition programmes that support SOLS Foundation's visibility and credibility

Corporate Volunteering & Events

  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee corporate volunteer engagement activities and fundraising event
  • Liaise with programme teams and external partners to ensure successful execution
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of events and campaigns and recommend improvements

Employee Giving & Campaigns

  • Develop and execute employee giving campaigns, including campaign communications, brochures, and donor appreciation and stewardship materials
  • Utilise diverse fundraising channels including digital campaigns and online fundraising tools

Donor Reporting & Impact Measurement

  • Prepare and send bespoke funder-facing impact reports on schedule (e.g. installation reports, periodic programme feedback reports) to maintain and strengthen donor relationships
  • Support impact measurement for specific donors, including coordination of quantitative and qualitative data collection
  • Track fundraising progress and maintain internal tracking sheets for donations and sponsorship commitments
  • Liaise with the accounts team to verify incoming fund transfers, amounts received, and the timely issuance of tax exemption receipts to donors
  • Create and maintain SOPs for donor reporting and fundraising tracking processes

Documentation & Administration

  • Maintain and organise fundraising documents including proposals, sponsorship decks, partnership agreements, and reports
  • Ensure all materials are stored in shared folders and accessible to relevant team members
  • Maintain a clear and up-to-date fundraising pipeline, documenting all active donor conversations, stages, and next actions
  • Coordinate with programme and implementation teams to ensure fundraising activities are aligned with programme schedules and needs
  • Other relevant duties as assigned by your reporting manager from time to time
  • Prepare detailed reports for the executive team and board of directors.

To be shortlisted for this position, you will need to have:

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 2–4 years of working experience in fundraising, social entrepreneurship, education, energy access, or the nonprofit sector
  • Strong planning and prioritisation skills
  • Decision-making and problem-solving ability
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills
  • Experience in donor management, grant writing, or corporate partnership development

Necessary technical, functional or language skills

  • Passionate about community development and social impact
  • Working knowledge of Google Suites and current communication tools
  • Strong proficiency in English, both oral and written
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach — this role works closely with programme, energy, and operations teams and requires someone who is helpful, personable, and proactive in cross-team coordination
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Understanding of SOLS Foundation's values, principles, and objectives and demonstrated ability to reflect them in day-to-day work
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Bahasa Malaysia proficiency is an advantage
  • Experience in corporate volunteer coordination or CSR event management is an advantage
