SOLS Edu Intern
Role Summary
Want to use technology to make a real difference in young people’s lives? SOLS edu ACE is an edu-tech app that helps secondary school students, especially from low-income communities, improve their English, score well in their SPM English exam and open doors to further studies and jobs. Our big goal is to help 1 million youth reach exam- and job-ready English by 2030.
As our intern, you’ll be a hands-on part of a small, fast-moving team. You’ll test our app, help build our online courses, find schools and NGOs to partner with, and support events that bring ACE to students. You’ll gain real experience in edu-tech, digital content and partnerships, and see the impact of your work on students first-hand.
This internship is a great fit if you love learning, enjoy working with technology and want your work to matter. You’ll be trusted with real responsibilities from day one, supported by a team that cares about your growth, and part of a group that puts at least 30% of its profits back into communities that need it most.
In this role you will:
1. App Testing
- Test new features of the ACE app, going through it step by step the way a real student would and report all findings through the designated process
- Share your own ideas on how to make the app easier, more engaging and more fun to learn with.
2. Course Content & LMS
- Upload English lessons, quizzes, audio and other learning materials into our Learning Management System (LMS), following the course plan.
- Double-check every upload for spelling, grammar, formatting and correct answers, so students get a smooth and accurate learning experience.
3. Partner Research
- Research and identify schools, NGOs and community organisations that could partner with us to bring ACE to more students, especially those from low-income communities.
- Build and maintain a partner list in Google Sheets with key details such as location, contact person and how they could work with us.
- Help prepare short partner profiles and outreach materials for the team.
4. Events & Workshops
- Assist in planning events and workshops with project partners.
- Help prepare event materials, registration forms and checklists.
- Support on event days, from setting up and welcoming participants to helping students download and get started on the app.
5. Data & Admin
- Keep team trackers, partner lists and simple reports organised and up to date in Google Sheets and Excel.
- Support the team with day-to-day admin tasks.
6. Learning & Growth
- Get to know how SOLS works through our onboarding and SOLS Academy sessions.
- Spend time with our Technology, Marketing and SOLS Foundation teams to see how ACE comes together, from building the app to reaching students on the ground.
- Get regular feedback from your supervisor to help you grow throughout your internship.
- Wrap up your internship by sharing what you’ve worked on and your ideas for making things better.
