Supply Chain Management (SCM) Intern

Internship
Kuala Lumpur
RM 600

Role Summary

The SCM Intern supports the SCM team across the procurement cycle — purchase requisition, purchase order, delivery, receiving, invoice matching and record keeping — while learning how a growing solar business plans, buys, stores and tracks materials.

SCM makes sure Sales and Installation are never blocked by missing stock, that SOLS buys at the right landed cost, and that every item is traceable from purchase to installation. The intern prepares, tracks and checks; the SCM Executive and Manager review, approve and commit.

In this role you will:

1. Purchasing Support

  • Check purchase requisitions (PRs) for completeness and draft purchase orders (POs) for the SCM Executive to review and issue.
  • Follow up on approvals and supplier confirmation of price, quantity and delivery date.

2. Delivery Tracking & Receiving

  • Update the delivery tracker daily and flag any delay that affects a confirmed installation.
  • Count and check deliveries against the PO, record serial numbers, photograph any damage, and prepare the goods receipt note (GRN) within 1 working day.

3. Inventory & Records

  • Update the live inventory tracker for every stock movement and support scheduled stock counts.
  • Prepare 3-way matching packs (PO, GRN, invoice) for Finance, and file every document in the agreed folder structure.

4. Cost & Compliance Support

  • Collect supplier quotes and build price comparison sheets using landed cost.
  • Keep the SIRIM / MyHIJAU licence checklist and product datasheet library up to date.

5. Internship Project

  • Deliver one improvement project agreed with the supervisor by week 2 (e.g. a tracker, template or SOP), and present it before the placement ends.

To be shortlisted for this position, you will need to have:

Essential

  • Currently pursuing a Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Engineering or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets (filters, basic formulas).
  • Strong attention to detail with numbers, codes and serial numbers.
  • Good English and Bahasa Malaysia; willing to do hands-on warehouse work.

Preferred

  • Mandarin, for working with overseas suppliers; interest in solar or social enterprise.
  • Exposure to an inventory system (e.g. Unleashed) or AI tools.

What's great about this opportunity?

  • Internship Allowance
  • On-the-job training for your role and mentorship by industry professionals
  • A letter of recommendation will be given upon completing your internship with excellent performance.
  • Work in an agile-driven environment alongside a diverse team
  • Contribute directly to improving the lives of low-income communities, as a part of a #madetoimpact organisation
