Education Teacher

The Education Teacher creates modules and delivers classes for some of the most underserved communities and youth in Malaysia. Key subjects are digital skills, professional and personal development, and job readiness, taught in person or online, including in off-grid Orang Asli villages.

• Conduct research and community needs assessments.
• Create teaching and assessment materials using human-centered design, aligned with programme goals.
• Prepare session plans and teaching resources.
• Deliver classes virtually and in-person at different locations.
• Manage classroom activities effectively using a participatory approach.
• Use relevant digital and offline tools to create learning experiences.
• Follow up with participants on homework, tasks, assignments, and portfolios.
• Carry out administrative tasks as required by the programme.

• Bachelor's degree in TESOL, Social Sciences, Developmental Studies, Education (completed)
• High proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia (written and verbal)
• Minimum one year of prior professional experience in a related position (teaching, training, instruction, community work, social services etc.);
• Proficiency in using Google Work Space tools (e.g. Google Sheets, Docs, Slides etc.)
• Passion and commitment for serving underserved communities;
• Alignment with the vision, mission, and strategic goals of SOLS;
• Interactional skills and cultural sensitivity suitable for engaging with B40 communities;
• Positive, constructive attitude, an eye for detail and seeking to improve the impact created;
• Ability to work independently and in teams;
• Agile approach in designing, testing and implementing innovation.
