Education Teacher
Role Summary
Are you someone who is passionate about supporting youth and young adults in achieving better results in studies, work, and personal lives? As a Teacher in SOLS Foundation you have the opportunity to engage in this capacity with some of the most underserved communities and youth in Malaysia.
The key subjects you would teach are Digital Skills at beginner and intermediate level (Google Workspace, Ai, coding fundamentals etc.), professional and personal development, and job readiness. The programmes are taught in Bahasa Malaysia or English, in-person or online, and in various types of communities, including off-grid Orang Asli villages.
You’ll work alongside our instructional designers and programme evaluation team to ensure each individual receives the best programme we can provide them with.

In this role you will:
- Conduct research and community needs assessment,
- Create teaching and assessment materials using human centered design and aligned with programme goals,
- Prepare session plans and teaching resources,
- Deliver classes virtually and in-person at different locations,
- Manage the classroom activities effectively, using a participatory approach,
- Utilise relevant tools (digital and/or offline) to create learning experiences,
- Follow-up with participants on homework, tasks, assignments and portfolios,
- Carry out administrative tasks as required by the programme.
To be shortlisted for this position, you will need to have:
- Bachelor's degree in TESOL, Social Sciences, Developmental Studies, Education (completed)
- High proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia (written and verbal)
- Minimum one year of prior professional experience in a related position (teaching, training, instruction, community work, social services etc.);
- Proficiency in using Google Work Space tools (e.g. Google Sheets, Docs, Slides etc.)
- Passion and commitment for serving underserved communities;
- Alignment with the vision, mission, and strategic goals of SOLS;
- Interactional skills and cultural sensitivity suitable for engaging with B40 communities;
- Positive, constructive attitude, an eye for detail and seeking to improve the impact created;
- Ability to work independently and in teams;
- Agile approach in designing, testing and implementing innovation.
